Throw a Friendsgiving Celebration

You might ask, what is Friendsgiving?  Friendsgiving is a Thanksgiving celebration dinner with your closest friends.  It's a time to get together, eat lots of great food, and give thanks for great friends.  With the help of Oriental Trading, I created this beautiful tablescape.  From plates and napkins, to candles and decor, they provide it all with fast shipping and quality supplies.  I loved adding a touch of gold and wood to my table to create an elegant yet rustic feel.

Items I used:
tablecloth
plates
napkins
gold rimmed glasses
gold doilies
wooden coasters
candles
candle holders
fall leaves
gold plastic silverware

I wanted to create some new fall decor for my house this year.  With a little help from Oriental Trading and my Silhouette machine, I made these Do-It-Yourself Fall Wooden Blocks.

Supplies needed:
Unfinished Wood Boxes from Oriental Trading
white paint
paint brush
Silhouette (or similar) cutting machine
colored vinyl
vinyl transfer tape
  1. Paint blocks white.  Let dry completely.
  2. Cut vinyl designs using the Silhouette machine.  **These designs were all downloaded from the Silhouette site.
  3. Adhere the designs using transfer tape to the wooden blocks.

Thanksgiving Turkey Wreath

For this post, I teamed up with Oriental Trading to create this fun Thanksgiving Turkey Wreath.  Wouldn't your guests love to see these cute turkeys on your front door when they arrive?  This project can be created within an hour and decorate your door for all to see!

Supplies needed:
Oriental Trading - Turkey Head Magnet Kit
Original Trading - Tacky Glue, or any other strong adhesive
Oriental Trading - Bright Foam Sheets
Black thin point marker
Skewers or popsicle sticks
Wreath of any kind
Ribbon of any kind

Directions:
  1. Put together one turkey of each kind as shown in the kit directions, without magnet attached.  (I love that they don't require glue and are self-adhesive)
  2. Cut skewers in half.  Glue to the back of the turkeys.
  3. Add feathers cut out of foam sheets with glue.  Let dry completely.
  4. Draw black lines of feathers with pen.
  5. Stick turkeys into the wreath and add a bow.
