Travel Themed Retirement Party

A co-worker of mine recently retired.  I had worked with him for over 17 years.  We knew that he liked to travel and had plans to visit Spain once retired.  With that in mind, I teamed up with Oriental Trading to decorate with a travel theme.  The products that they provided were a perfect send off for his new adventures!

To greet guests at the door, I used a suitcase and covered the back with maps from an atlas.  The banner was made from burlap paper and letters cut using my
Silhouette machine.

Inflatable globes were hung from the ceiling across the room.

Travel posters from around the world made the guest of honor look forward to new beginnings.

I made a banner out of maps from an atlas and burlap paper.
It was hung above the cake table.

The cake was decorated with stamps from passports and cut-outs
from my Silhouette machine.
Let the adventures begin!
Under the cake, we used globe cutouts as placemats.

We also pinned the globe cutouts onto the front of the table.

Blue napkins were place in a fun little suitcase along with utensils.
Passports were laid out on the cake table as extra decor.

The party was a success!  If you are looking for other party or travel themed supplies check out the selection at Oriental Trading.  There are so many items to choose from.

**Oriental Trading sent me products for this post.  All opinions are my own.

  Thanks ~ Nichi
