We just got back from a wonderful week long vacation. Traveling from Kansas to sunny Mexico was a much needed change. However, I could have easily stayed there. The resort was wonderful, the kids had a terrific time, and the food was plenty. We got spoiled spending each day at the beach and pool. Speaking of the beach...this project takes me back there. My daughter and I came up with this fun fairy house to capture the fun of the tropics.
Supplies:
One container - plastic or glass
tropical calendar or picture
plastic palm trees (found at local hobby store miniatures section)
sand
seashells
sock
miniature accessories (we used a Barbie camera and drink)
Cut the picture to fit inside the container. We used a 2013 tropical beaches calendar. What a great way to recycle! |
Cut a sock down to create a beach towel. We used a sock that had lost its match. Then, add the sand, seashells and accessories to finish the fairy house. |
Creating this project was a lot of fun. Most of all, I got to spend a fun afternoon with my wonderful 10 year old. Enjoy the simple times with your kids and create your own fairy house.
